Armidale Community Preschool is a community based, not-for-profit centre. We are fully licensed by the Department of Community Services. The preschool is operated by a management Committee elected by the parents at the AGM each year.
The preschool is licensed for 39 children each day.
Armidale Community Preschool opened in 1976 on their present site, purchasing the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Allingham St.
In 1983 the children at the preschool that year developed our present logo.
In 1993 an extension was added to the preschool building comprising a staff room, office & store room.
We developed our slogan “Growing Through Play” in 1996.
In September 2008 the preschool was completely destroyed by fire. The preschool was only closed for two days. We continued to operate, firstly at the TAFE & then at the PCYC. We reopened in our new premise 13 months later.
The Armidale Community Preschool won a Children’s Services Award in 2009 for best practice, governance & innovative ideas in managing their service.
